  Wisps are tiny creatures of magical origin. To the tribal elves, they were often companions and it was considered an honor to have one choose to follow you, typically denoting that the individual was good of heart. They are typically harmless, with their size being no larger than a pebble, although the concentrated arcane light around them makes them appear as large as a golf ball. The magic contained within them differs widely from one wisp to the next. Some can change their shape, some explode themselves into a dazzling display of sparks, and some can even give an aggressor a small shock with their magic. As is their nature, wisps are always in both the mundane and spirit phases of this world, and thus can interact with both, or phase between them as they wish.
  
  Liko, like almost all wisps, does not speak, although they are still known to be sentient. It appeared to Vinari ten years before she had volunteered to leave her tribe, on the dawn of her eleventh birthday. Vinari has taken to referring to it as a female, and Liko has not seemed to mind at all. Its magic allows it to take the shape of a butterfly or a hummingbird.
• Nahnil
  
  Nahnil is a kind-hearted, and motherly eldritch spirit who has been with the Elven tribes for countless years. She helps guide Vinari through her adventures and took the role of a teacher in her younger years. Nahnil shared many things with the young seer, including knowledge of the eldritch realms, the girls magic, and the history of the land around her. Although Vinari can see and hear her, it takes a special magic to see an eldritch spirit such as herself, and a rare gift to hear them.
  
  When the world was created, for a brief moment it was opened to the planar realms, and Nahnil was drawn into this new world. Lost and confused, Nahnil knew nothing else to do but sleep. She slept for millions of year before civilization woke her from her slumber. Every time Nahnil tried to interact with the physical world around her, she was disheartened to find that it passed right through her. They could neither see nor hear them. That was, until the first seer found her. Of all the creatures that walked the land she called her home, she found a select few within the Elven tribes that could not only see her, but hear her too. Seers, as they were called by the tribes, possessed a rare inherent ability to communicate with the eldritch spirits of this world, which they told her she was. Finally, Nahnil was happy in the company of these seers, and they exchanged a great deal of knowledge. But as time passed, the seers began to fade away and the gift became increasingly rare. Alone again, Nahnil watched the Elven tribes as if a mother was watching her children from afar. But in her heart she was lonely, and loneliness turned to sorrow. She spent centuries joylessly before a three-year-old Vinari came across her, and Nahnil has been by her side ever since.
• Kobbo
  
  Snarky, suspicious, and sarcastic, Kobbo is often the voice of caution for Vinari, as well as a source of laughter as he makes fun of her encounters with a voice no other can hear. It is not uncommon for Kobbo to counter the opinions of Nahnil and Vinari with more skeptical versions of his own, but he means well by it. Although he would attest such a thought, Vinari and her other eldritch companion know he cares about both of them, although he seems to detest the wisp. As with Nahnil and most eldritch spirits, he is invisible to mundane beings, and requires special talents to see, and even more to speak with.
  
  Kobbo does not come from the same world as Nahnil, but instead from the world that preceded Vinari's. He has little memory of what his life was like before the Collapse and the detonation of magic that turned him into this. It has been argued between Kobbo and Nahnil that this does not make him an eldritch spirit.
  
  It was Nahnil that brought Kobbo to Vinari, tracking him down to show him the child that she had found. The two spirits had been friends for many years, but when the seers had disappeared he went searching to find another that could see them as the Elven kin once had. He claims he does not know why he sticks around to accompany Vinari, but he is all too aware of the frightening feeling of caring for both her and the eldritch spirit Nahnil.
